چکیده

An algorithm is presented that scales the pixel intensities of a computer generated greyscale image so that they are all displayable on a standard CRT. This scaling is spatially nonuniform over the image in that different pixels with the same intensity in the original image may have different intensities in the resulting image. The goal of this scaling transformation is to produce an image on the CRT that perceptually mimics the calculated image, while staying within the physical limitations of the CRT.

Scaling-up Transformation of Multisensor Images with Multiple Resolutions

For scaling up low resolution multispectral images (LRMIs) with high resolution panchromatic image (HRPI), intensity-hue-saturation (IHS) can produce satisfactory spatial enhancement but usually introduces spectral distortion in the fused high resolution multispectral images (HRMIs). In this paper, to minimize this problem, we present a generalized intensity modulation (GIM) by extending the IH...

A New Method for Detecting Ships in Low Size and Low Contrast Marine Images: Using Deep Stacked Extreme Learning Machines

Detecting ships in marine images is an essential problem in maritime surveillance systems. Although several types of deep neural networks have almost ubiquitously used for this purpose, but the performance of such networks greatly drops when they are exposed to low size and low contrast images which have been captured by passive monitoring systems. On the other hand factors such as sea waves, c...

Spatially coherent states in fractally coupled map lattices.

We study coupled map lattices with a scaling form of connectivity and show that the dynamics of these systems exhibit a transition from spatial disorder to spatially uniform, temporal chaos as the scaling is varied. We numerically investigate the eigenvalue spectrum of the random matrix characterizing fluctuations from spatial uniformity, and find that the spectrum is real, bounded, and has a g...

An Approach for Accurate Edging using Dynamic Membership Functions

In this paper, by means of fuzzy approaches, an accurate method is introduced for edging of color photographs. The difference between our method with other similar methods is the use of a morphological operation to think or thick the obtained edges. In this proposed method, a 3×3 window is dragged on the photo. For each block, 12 point sets will be defined, each including two non-overlapping po...

Spatially-Variant Roughness Penalty Design for Uniform Resolution in Penalized-Likelihood Image Reconstruction

Abstract Traditional space-invariant regularization schemes in tomographic image reconstruction using penalizedlikelihood estimators produce images with nonuniform resolution properties. The local point spread functions that quantify the local smoothing properties of such estimators are not only space-variant and asymmetric, but are also object-dependent even for space-invariant systems. We pro...
